The 2018 Color of the Year Predictions
People have already started making predictions for the 2018 Color of the Year. And the new colors proposed so far are bold and invigorating. What do you think of the 2018 Color of the Year Predictions?
Black Fame
While the hue of the moment last year was Alabaster White and Simply White, 2017 saw a shift to darker colors neutrals such as Poised Taupe and Mushroom. But PPG Paints-one of the first companies to make their predictions, have named Black Fame (PPG1043-7) as their new shade for 2018. Black Fame is described as statement-making black with deep tones of indigo. It reflects the rebirth of black and evokes feelings of privacy, hope and classic modernism.
Deep Onyx
Glidden Paint have gone for Deep Onyx (00N 07/000) which they describe as a no-fuss shade of black that inspires as less or more approach to décor. This color has a chalkboard-like look on it and feels less harsh when seen on walls or on the floor.
Black Magic
Black Magic is the color that brings an airy and soft space down to earth according to Olympic Paints & Saints. They claim Black Magic (OL116) is the perfect mix of masculine and feminine hue. When paired with a copper pendant light and white trim, Black Magic produces a cozy atmosphere for all to see.
Affinity
Affinity refers to a combination of three bright color palettes namely blue, fuchsia and brown. Affinity is designed to create harmonious hues in your home. The color components complement each other, creating a sense of tranquility and the result you’ll love.
Connectivity and Sincerity
Connectivity comprises of blue, green and high-def yellow while Sincerity comprises of neutrals, green and pink. These seductive color combinations are designed to seamlessly spark a serious happiness in your room by achieving tranquility.
As far as the predictions are to go by, the year 2018 seems to be the year of dark hues – a sharp contrast to white and neutrals of the previous years.
