Renters Insurance and why you need it!
When you think of
Renters Insurance, what do you think? Do you think, “It’s too expensive” or “I don’t need it”? Bottom line, you need it. Often times when we move into our new apartment, condo, townhome or rental property, we don’t think about getting information on insuring our belongings. There is so much to do when a person moves, it just becomes a forgotten thing, until it’s too late.

All homeowners have homeowners insurance, in fact – mortgage lenders require it. Recent studies show about 40% of renters buy renters insurance. If you happen to fall in the 60% that doesn’t have renters insurance, it’s not too late.
Many renters insurance policies run between $18 to $20 a month. If your TV is stolen or your jewelry, would it be more than that? Of course!
Here are some facts that you need to think about: (check with a local insurance company for a more detailed list)
- Most of the time, your policy covers your stuff even when it’s not in your home or apt.
- Your insurance policy covers your guest’s items too
- You might qualify for a hotel reimbursement in case of fire or storm damage
- Provides protection if someone gets injured at your home
You might want to act quickly and contact your local insurance company to inquire about renters insurance. Your belongings are well worth it!
